Work safety management in hard coal mining industry -- part 7. Water hazard risk at Polish hard coal mines

Risk analysis of water hazard activation in underground hard coal mines was carried out in conditions of protection activities being implemented in this regard in Polish hard coal mines. That regards, thus, a residual risk occurring within the scope of protection measures implemented. On the basis of data regarding water inrushes during 30-year period probability of water inrush was determined in the period of the oncoming 5-year period (2004-2008). Taking the account of four categories of water inrush into mines and assigning to them respective values expressed in PLN the probability of water inrushes was calculated with outcomes classified to particular categories.
