Review of methods for measurement of ferrite content in high alloyed steels and their welded joints

Methods of ferrite determination in austenitic and ferritic-austenitic steels and their welded joints are presented using diagrams, Magne-Gage and Feritscope appliances, and image analysis of their microstructure. Principles of measurement in individual methods are described and the size of samples that can be applied in measurement is given. Advantages and shortcomings of each method are mentioned.
