A new method of joining galvanized sheet steel is the cold metal transfer (CMT) process developed by Fronius~(1-4). This method involves the use of a short-circuit arc, and its characteristics, which affect the suitability for welding thin-walled elements are: a small amount of heat input, very little spatter, and no need for treatment after welding. The CMT method is a revolution in welding technology, both in the field of equipment and applications, going far beyond the scope of the MIG/MAG welding applications.The CMT method can be summarized as a revolution in the field of GMA welding with numerical process control.
