The Ford Focus C-MAX isn't big enough to call itself a mini people carrier" - my conclusion after early skirmishes with Ford's swollen hatch. Well call me Mr Fickle, but I hope I'm a large enough chap myself to admit that I could be wrong. The new evidence was gleaned on a recent trip to Nottingham for that strange British institution - the stag weekend. I was driving, and was soon landed with a couple of rugby mates who on a Saturday afternoon lurk in the murky world of numbers 1 to 8 and thus make me look like a fly weight. My concern was that with their heaving luggage the C-MAX would struggle for space but with just three of us on board things were fine. Unsurprisingly the extra weight meant that a few familiar corners on route to the motorway had to be taken at drastically reduced speed from the usual zip that can be enjoyed with a lighter payload.
