THE LAND ROVER Discovery has always been a thoroughbred. Its combination of go-anywhere ability and pedigree styling make it look equally at home parked outside the local stables or a swish, city centre hotel. This new model promises to enhance that appeal. There is a more powerful diesel engine and fresh styling inside and out, as well as suspension and steering tweaks that aim to make the Discovery better to drive on road, without losing any of its legendary off-road prowess. Even though Audi's Q7 can't follow the Discovery as far into the wilderness, it has still been a big success in the SUV market. It, too, has had a makeover, and this new Clean Diesel model has a modified 3.0-litre diesel engine and a sophisticated exhaust system that reduces nitrogen oxide (NO_x) emissions by up to 90%.
