摘要

A simulation model for wear profile prediction of IC engine bearings is presented. Most of the existing studies on clearance joints in multi-body dynamics simulations are based on elementary mechanisms running at constant speed. The present simulation includes Parameters and variables necessary for representing real engine kinetics. The developed scheme is capable to simulate an engine running at different conditions, and yields the parameters that are the main contributors to wear. Based on real engine data, the outputs of the simulation were obtained and used to predict the wear depths at locations phase locked to crank angular displacement. The results were compared with wear based results in previous study. The potential of integrating simulated wear and vibration based indicators is also discussed.
