In the article titled "Maisonneuve Fracture" by Millen and Lindberg, which appeared in The Journal of Emergency Medicine, January 2009, it states: "An intact mortise with no joint space widening can be treated by casting and follow-up with Orthopedics in 6-8 weeks.
