The new generation of NC controllers practical solutions based on splines

An OSACA-based NC controller by the name of "WZLNC" has been developed at the Laboratory forMachine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) of Aachen University of Technology. Thecontroller uses an innovative data format and it makes consistent use of splines. It can easily beadapted to any machine kinematics through universal transformation algorithms. The paperdemonstrates the end user's benefit from a targeted application of the latest NC technology to today'sproduction environment, based upon an open control architecture.
