Membrane bioreactors for wastewater treatment and reuse: a success story

This paper briefly reviews our current understanding of membrane bioreactor processes (including conventional and immersed membrane designs) resulting from three decades of development, highlighting process advantages, applications and areas for continuing research. [References: None]
