Otherwise, we'd all be driving around in one-litre Lupos, and there'd be no market for a 147 mph turbocharged 2-litre high-performance hatchback. With rave reviews from all quarters, the new GTI has already captured the imagination of the buying public and customers are queuing up to place their orders. Only a few weeks after it was first launched here, Volkswagen UK is well on its way towards selling over half of the total UK allocation for the whole year.
