DURING THE last year, we have tested the two most expensive versions of the Touareg, the V6 Hybrid and the V8 TDK Both of these have very impressive acceleration and are ideal tow cars, but the power outputs mean that fuel consumption comes in as second best, with overall figures of 26.2 mpg for the Hybrid and 27.5 mpg for the V8 TDI. All the other available versions of the Touareg are powered by the 3.0-litre V6 TDI engine and I had the chance to drive some distance in one a few weeks ago.
