TVG Files for Polymer Encapsulation

Technology Visions Group, Inc. (5950 La Place Ct., Carlsbad, CA 92008; Tel: 760/918-9168) has filed a patent application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for its Polymer Encapsulation Technology (PET). PET provides a method of encapsulating and stabilizing hazardous and mixed waste materials. The company's system allows for the stabilization of wastes in a form suitable for shallow land burial or transportation, and has been shown to resist severe environments, including radiation. Extensive testing and evaluation of the TVG's encapsulation and stabilization method has provided definitive data in support of the patent and the PET system, the company says. Previous test and evaluation results have shown the successful encapsulation of radioactive material, salt wastes and heavy metal wastes so that the stabilized waste is chemically inert, nontoxic, radiation-resistant and heat- and flame-resistant.
