Even with more than 10 years' experience in interviewing and hiring support staff, 1 still find this process to be one of the most challenging aspects of managing a veterinary practice. During an inter-view, it is important to ask questions that willhelp determine whether a candidate would be a good fit for the practice. However, the practice should be aware that certain questions cannot legally be asked. This month's column focuses on the interview process from the legal standpoint. When management knows which questions are illegal to ask during an interview, the practice can focus on developing a system to identify individuals who will make great additions to the team.
