Mrs. Shelley brings her 6-year-old male Parson (Jack) Russell terrier, Barry, to the emergency clinic after noticing a large amount of blood in his urine. The initial physical examination reveals lethargy, fever, icterus, and mild dehydration. Dr. Shimmel orders a complete blood cell count (CBC), urinalysis, and serum chemistry profile.
