MIDTKRAFT's HR policy has aimed to provide employees and managers with competences to match the company's needs while at the same time accommodating to the maximum extent possible the desires of each employee, based on a shared goal of improving the company's competitive strength. The classic notions of job security, such as the old concept of 'tenured staff' or lifelong bank employment, no longer exist. In real terms, today's only actual job security lies in the qualifications of each employee, and perhaps more specifically, in extending these qualifications. This also means that the HR policy does not signify a particularly "soft" staff policy, but rather the idea of creating the opportunity to extend and develop the qualifications and competences of each individual employee, in harmony with the company's needs. The implications for those employees who do not wish to participate in such initiatives are the same as for staff policies which are not based on the HR concept. HR Development is a precondition for ensuring the future growth and development of the company under the new market regime. This is realized by ensuring that the company and the individual employee share a common goal, in that the company's strategic development and qualification development needs are matched by the employees' needs for professional and personal development.
