The demands made on a power generating utility as the result of deregulation are both multifarious and complex, resulting in the need to cut production costs considerably. To this end it is necessary to consider the overall production processes. Despite the price decline in the supply industry one task is of importance more than ever: to keep the safety standard at the present level and even to improve it. This key task of modem power plant management does already provide the framework for an integrated isolation process, integration playing a decisive role. It is responsible for the distribution and compilation of isolation process information for complex plants and components within a power plant being possible without great financial and technical expenditure.
