Formulation of the quality assurance system and accreditation of the chemical test laboratory of Draukraftwerke AG (Austrian Drau River power station company)

The chemical test laboratory of the Austrian Drau River power station company provides, in task areas, support to operational laboratories, central chemical problems of power from the Drau and associated companies and tests for external clients.This paper attempts to describe in a condensed form the theme "accreditation": The concrete formulation and lasting implementation of a quality assurance system are associated with considerable expenditure. On the other hand, there are advantages; theyextend, for example, to the incorporation of the test laboratory in an environmental management system instituted in 1996.
