Quality Management System in Non-Destructive Testing Laboratories: Accreditation as a Testing Laboratory

This article presents the quality assurance system established in the NDT Laboratories of the Middle East Technical University - Welding Technology and NDT Centre in Ankara, Turkey. The quality assurance system is based on the requirements of EN 45001: 'General criteria for the operation of testing laboratories'. In 1995 the quality system activities began, and these NDT laboratories were audited and accredited as a testing laboratory by DAR-Germany in November 1996.
