Edwin E. Edler was at a crossroads, and there were no signs telling him which way to go. An electrician for the Marines, he worked installing and upgrading the high-tech electronics systems of naval ships at the basenear his home of Surry County, Va.,but a motorcycle accident last September left him paralyzed from the waist down, and unable to continue working in his chosen profession. "I was really down and out. I didn't know what I was going to do to make a living, and it sort of felt like all mydreams had died," recounts Edler.
