GREENKEEPING in Toowoomba, Queensland, can be quite a challenge, Toowoomba is located 200 kilometres west of Brisbane on the Darling Downs and has an altitude of 600 metres. It has winter temperatures from -3°to 14° and mild summer temperatures of12°to 25°. After working at Essendon Bowls Club in Melbourne for three years, I can relate Toowoomba's climatic conditions and the occasional weather change throughout the day to Melbourne's unpredictable weather.
