What is your diagnosis? Nasal discharge from a dog

An 8-year-old, castrated male, mixed-breed dog was presented to the North Carolina State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital (NCSU-VTH) for a 17-month history of sneezing, gagging, and unilateral nasal discharge, which began after being boarded at a kennel. During that time, the dog had been examined twice by the referring veterinarian. Initially, antibiotics (unknown type and dosage) resulted in temporary improvement of clinical signs. Six months later the dog had similar clinical signs, and chronic inflammation and bacilli were identified on cytologic preparations of the nasal discharge. Results of a CBC, chemistry panel, radiographs, and fungal culture of the nasal discharge were unremarkable. The patient was treated with antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs (unknown dosages and duration).
