It is well known that the repeated heat treatment of pitch-impregnated carbon billets without damage to the quality of the final product can be effected at a much greater heating rate than roasting pressed billets. Further, the initial treatment temperature for the billets is at least 800 deg C. The potential to accelerate the heat treatment rate for pitch-impregnated billets depends on the one hand, on eliminating its unit-deformation changes and, on the other, its higher heat conductivity than the original pressed billet. In this work, in order to determine the additional reserves needed to accelerate the roasting process for pitch-impregnated electrode billets for pitch-impregnated electrode billets and improve the quality of the final material, research was conducted to validate the nature of their heating conditions with respect to the final roasting temperatures before impregnation.
