Acute Pasteurellosis with E.COLI complicated Pneumonia in the Rabbit

A case of pasteurellosis caused by PASTEURELLA HAEMOLYTICA biotype T with ESCHERICHIA COLI complication is reported. Analysis of the case indicated that the infection might have been precipitated by environmental stress associated with the transfer of the rabbit cages to an open space during harmattan. At necropsy, pulmonary congesticon and mild consolidation was found. Histopathologically, there was acute purulent pneumonia. The p. HAEMOLYTICA was sensitive to ampicillin, colistin sulphqte, cotrimoxazole, gentamycin, streptomyci, tetracycline and chloramphenicol, while the E. COLI was sensitive to colistin sulphate, gentamycin, streptomycin tetracycline and chloramphenicol.
