Users need consistent quality in valves: Interview with Mr. Masayuki Ono, Principal Engineer at JGC

In an earlier issue of Valve World magazine we interviewed JGC Corporation in Japan. We recently had contact with the company again and spoke to Mr. Masayuki Ono, Principal Engineer at JGC's Yokohama headquarters. He is also Technical Advisor at the Plant & Piping Department of JGC and his main responsibilities are preparing company standards and procedures relating to piping materials, as well as advising on technical issues. His interest lies in combining and integrating professional and industrial products from different manufacturers into a single front, rather than working on individual industrial parts. As an example of his way of approaching his job, Mr. Ono tells us that when he is working with a valve manufacturer, instead of dealing with a lot of separate issues, he prefers to look at ways in which everything can be combined into one single operation and then offers a completely new approach to both the manufacturer and the contractor. "My interest in this aspect is the reason I joined the industry."
