In a placebo-controlled study of rituximab induction in renal transplantation, Tyden et al. (I) found no statistically significant decrease in the number of acute rejections during the first 6 months after transplantation. However, there was a clear trend toward fewer and milder rejection episodes in rituximab-treated patients.
