Seed Potato Interest From South America

In its efforts to promote the export of US seed potatoes the US Potato Board had identified people, interested in US seed potatoes. Potato farmers and importers from Venezuela, Brazil, Honduras and the Dominican Republic were invited by the US PotatoBoard in Denver Colorado, July 24 to a Seed Potato symposium. Leah Cochran of the Seed Program had included several speakers in the program to give the visitors an introduction to the US seed potato programs. Representatives from the Idaho Potato Commission and the Colorado Seed Potato Certification Program also attended the gathering with one Colorado grower.
