Show Report: Euro Bus Expo offers stage for launch of many new vehicles and products for 2013 and 2014

UK - Strong order books and clear strategies for growth internationally by all three of Britain s major UK bus builders - ADL, Wrightbus and Optare - provided a positive and upbeat mood at Euro Bus Expo 2012 held in Birmingham last month. All three companies offered new models and announced their preparedness for Euro VI emission standards. Volvo, MAN, Scania and Mercedes-Benz, were not to be outdone with significant announcements of their own. Furthermore, UK's Transport Minister used the show to announce GBP20m in government subsidies to be made available as part of a fourth round of the Green Bus Fund. The UK remains one of the most complex markets in Europe, if not the world, with chassis builders and body builders offering jointly developed bus and coach products for different market segments, whilst, at the same time, offering the same market segment fully integral products or ones developed specifically with an operator.
