Yulin - Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Co Ltd - a subsidiary of Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Group Co Ltd - with more than 9,000 employees, assets of >RMB16bn and an annual engine output of 700,000 units, said that demand for diesel electric hybrid drivelines in Eastern China for buses is increasing rapidly, at least according to Yuchai following its launch of its New Energy engine powertrain launched in Suzhou, Jiangsu province in September. Yuchai is offering its latest diesel and gas engines, with its third generation ESI (Electronic Service Indicator) system III, which continuously monitors system back pressure and indicates when servicing of the filter is necessary (it is designed for use with both the CRT and SCRT systems) together with its hybrid power (electrical) system II. (The diesel and gas engines have been developed with expertise from Austrian and German engineering consultants (AVL and FES/)). The company pointed out that the plug-in parallel hybrid-electric system II, developed by Yuchai uses the benefits of the first generation and is fitted with a standard automated manual transmission (AMT). The hybrid system can be fitted with either diesel or natural gas engines.
