Westport sales rise 70% - yet losses double

Canada - Westport Innovations Inc of Vancouver has reported annual revenues of CND121.8m, an increase of 70% over CND71.5m for its fiscal year ending March 31, 2008. However, despite this and reporting record engine sales - it delivered 4,038 units in fiscal 2009 as compared with 2,720 units in fiscal 2008 - it continues to make losses. It reported a net loss of CND24.4m in fiscal 2009 compared with CND10.3m in fiscal 2008.
