Daimler Trucks reports record year in Europe but global sales volume down 10%

Germany - Daimler Trucks sold a total of 467,700 heavy-, medium- and light-duty vehicles in 2007, down 9.4% over 2006 (516,000), the Stuttgart-based company announced last month. Daimler stated: "The sales drop was expected and resulted primarily from decreased market volumes in the key sales markets US, Canada and Japan, where stricter emissions regulations led to large numbers of pre-buys in 2006." Daimler splits its markets into three regions: Trucks Europe/Latin America; Trucks Asia and Trucks NAFTA.
