South Florida's hurricane season is June 1 to November 15. When a hurricane watch or hurricane warning is announced for South Florida, it is always too late to start pruning trees to prevent hurricane damage in terms of the dangers from intense squalls preceding of a hurricane and the dangers of having tree trimmings lying around. Trimming trees during squally weather is highly hazardous to the person doing the pruning and to other objects in the area especially from nearby electrical lines. Tree trimmings lying around become air borne missiles and are extremely dangerous if a hurricane strikes.
