First Aid/APR Nees for Tree Workers: Part 1

Incidents, unplanned events that may result in human injury or property damage, are an unfortunate consequence of tree work. It does not have to be this way and we must strive every day to minimize the possibility, but still incidents occur at a muchhigher rate than experienced in many other professions. This means that tree workers need to be well versed in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The non-fatal injuries tree workers experience - deep thermal burns, open fractures, severebleeding -are serious and life-threatening and require prompt and appropriate first aid. Paper cuts, a leading injury for cubical workers, require a band aid and are not the concern for tree workers.
