Up the Cape recently I saw a bloke toss a bag of rubbish onto a rubbish pile that had been left behind by a bunch of drunks that had used the site previously. The former campers had obviously drunk themselves into a stupor before going home to their community - judging by the pile of emptied! When I confronted our interstate visitor about dumping the rubbish his weak excuse was that if the local traditional land owners can do it, so could he! Our friend really had missed the point entirely because it is up to all of us to show an example, not just compound the problem.
