South Australia has relatively few true gamefish swimming in its temperate waters, a fact of life when living and fishing in a Mediterranean climate. But we do have the Southern Bluefin tuna to make up for the lack of a huge species list and they arewithout doubt a top class adversary. They are an extremely fast and powerful foe when hooked on medium tackle and as with all the tuna species, they will always fight to the very end. The Southern Bluefin tuna really is the quintessential sport fish.
