Restoring an old boat is not a proposition for the faint-hearted. The 'older' used boat market is rife with the bad and the ugly, and occasionally, you might come across something half decent. However, you can find some gems, including legendary vessels like the 1969 model Seafarer Ventura, which were built to last the test of time with their strong construction and enduring styling. In fact, they are practical boats that work just as well today as they did when they were first launched. With some time and money, these retro classics can be converted into practical 'new-age' family-fishing boats. And this is exactly what I did when it came time to replace my old, long serving tinnie.
