CONNECTED TOLLING: If implemented strategically, vehicle-to-infrastructure technology could be a powerful tool for the tolling industry

Connected vehicles will challenge tolling in a fundamental way and the toll industry needs to respond. Within a decade, virtually every vehicle on the road will have a built-in transponder, and will be connected to every other vehicle and hopefully to infrastructure. The first industry to use transponders will soon become a part of a community.
