Kingfish they are without doubt one of our hardest fighting inshore species you can tangle with. They are right at the top of the list for pulling power, obstinacy and dirty tactics. And the good news is kings are also quite common and come up well onthe dinner plate. For the most part, kingfish aren't an overly difficult fish to tempt, however, there are days when they become very fastidious feeders. This means they'll often follow your bait or lure, raising hopes of a hook up, only to turn away When you encounter kings in this sort of mood it can be extremely frustrating, but that's part of the challenge. And let's face it - fishing would be pretty boring if we always caught fish! When inshore kingfish are present, but not actually hitting baitsor lures, you can do one of two things; move elsewhere to find kingfish or offer them something that they will actually eat!
