Manufacturing of a pump housing with integrated dynamic TPU seal by assembly injection molding

摘要

Hydraulic pump housings for industrial and automotive applications are usually monolithic casted steel constructions, which require mechanical finishing of the casted raw part and mounting of static and dynamic elastomer seals for service use. Machining and assembly steps are technically complex and costly [1]. According to the current demands for lightweight design solutions and mass reduction in automotive assemblies, it is imperatively quintessential to have a new, mass-optimized design approach for such conventional pump systems.
