Germans focus on nanoparticle safety

A THREE-YEAR PROGRAM DUBBED NANOCARE to develop measurement and test methods for analyzing the safety of nanomaterials started in March in Germany.Supported by EURO5 million from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and EURO2.6 million from industry,it brings together 13 companies (including BASF,Bayer,Degussa and Solvay),universities and research institutes to investigate the effects of nanoparticles on human health and the environment.
