PROCESS ADDITIVE IMPROVES MOLD RELEASE OF EPDM

Axel Plastics Research Laboratories announces a new process aid additive, MoldWiz~R INT-1117LAM designed to improve release of EPDM rubber while leaving molded surfaces free of contamination that can result in uneven surface gloss and make subsequent bonding or printing difficult. MoldWiz INT-1117LAM is a proprietary blend of synergistically selected fatty organic acids, esters, alkanes and alkanols. The product is off-white in colour making it suitable for use in light as well as dark coloured elastomers, including EPDM. The additive is easily incorporated into rubber recipes by banbury processing; the typical addition range is 0.3 to 0.5 phr.
