Damon Holah continues his project to bring the 3a up to scratch. This month he carries on working on the drawbar. Andrew Hall has the story. Damon has a strong interest in anything engineering-wise and strives to attain the best results he can with the projects he undertakes. I knew when he embarked on this project that it would end up with far more being done than he first envisaged, and his attention to detail has been far greater than my patience would run to! Even the preparation and work done to the drawbar, which many people would dismiss, has been extensive. The Marshall had done a lot of drawbar work over the years and, as a result, there was wear in every part of it. In the last issue Damon had started by repairing the forward bracket on which the drawbar swings, which involved boring out the worn hole and welding in a bush to bring the hole back to size. The drawbar iron itself had been repaired at some time in the past and, rather than attempt to improve the original, it was easier to make a completely fresh bar, more of which later.
