Pesticide contamination in the Cuban agricultural environment

The climatic conditions in Cuba together with technical and legislative measures contribute to the low pesticide residue levels found in crops, soils and biota, as is shown by the data reported here. The necessity of implementing systematic monitoring of pesticide contamination in the Cuban environment is emphasized. The limitations on development and the trends in the analysis of pesticide residues are discussed.
