Stephanie Cadieux: BCPA Director Now a Provincial Candidate

Stephanie Cadieux is taking her next step in community activism. She was nominated in June 2008 as the British Columbia Liberal candidate for the riding of Surrey Panorama in the provincial election, scheduled for May 12. Until taking her leave of absence at the end of February, Stephanie worked with BCPA as director of marketing and fund development. She started with BCPA in 2001 on a grant to develop a peer program, which she developed and coordinated for three years. For the next two years, she worked in marketing and public relations and has managed the marketing and fund development program for the past year. Stephanie experienced a C5 spinal cord injury as a result of a car crash in 1991 and is an "incomplete injury," with some use of many of her muscle groups. Her hands have little function but she has pretty good arm and trunk control. Eighteen when she was injured, Stephanie is now 36, married and the proud servant of two cats.
