SAUDI ARABIA: Cristal Poised to Start-up 500,000 t.p.a. 'Slagger' at Jazan

Outotec (headquartered in Espoo, Finland) is nearing completion of the construction of the large ilmenite new smelter at Jazan (725 km south of Jeddah and 80 km from the Saudi/Yemeni border). Commissioning of the first furnace is expected to begin in May 2014 and commissioning of the second furnace is expected to begin in June/July 2014.
