Suppliers Become Bolder, Posting Increases of $US 300-350 per Tonne

For many years now, TiO2 pigment suppliers have routinely posted price rises for most market regions about five or six weeks ahead of the start of the next quarter-year. These increases used to be of the order of $US 0.03-0.07 per pound for North American customers and $US 50-150 per tonne for customers in other parts of the world. However, suppliers have adopted a much bolder approach in recent months, typically posting price increments of $US 0.15 per pound (equivalent to $US 331 per tonne) for North American markets and $US 300-350 per tonne for markets in Europe and elsewhere.
