In TiO2 Worldwide Update, Jly/Aug 2009, reviewing Iluka's operations in the SouthWest, we noted: "The Waroona mine (140 km south of Perth) is geared towards producing ilmenite for captive conversion to synrutile at CapeTNorth, But there will be a hiatus in ilmenite supplies in the SouthWest following the closure of the Waroona mine in November 2009. Its intended replacement - the new mine at Tutunup South (15 km southeast of Busselton) - will not be ready to commence production until Q2 2010."
