On November 14th, the Danish Minister for Environment and Energy, Svend Auken, signed a new statutory order banning the use of lead in a large number of products in Denmark."Lead is found in countless products. Forbidding its use in a few of them is not sufficient. We need to tackle the problem more vigorously - and that is what we do with the new rules on lead. Denmark will be the first country to regulate cadmium, mercury, nickel and lead - in line with our declared goal of minimising the use of use of heavy metals," says the Minister.
