JFE Joko ( Sendai Works ) held recently a tender to purchase 250 tons of low carbon ferro--chrome with carbon 0.1 percent max. for shipments in January - March quarter of 2006 and the lowest price bidden and awarded seems to be in the range of 91.5 - 91.7 US-Cents per lb. CIF Japan. A normal price of low carbon material with carbon 0.1 percent to be actually transacted is on a level of 100 - 105 US-Cents per lb. CIF and, accordingly, the price awarded this time is an extremely lower one.
