Spot price of molybdenum oxide was offered at 8.25 US dollars per lb in late December of 2003. The actual business was not concluded at this high price but spot transaction of molybdenum oxide in Europe was contracted at 8.10 US dollars per lb., which renewed the highest price since June of 2002. The unstable production of molybdenum in China, where has shared 24 - 25 percent of the world supply, became the factors to fluctuate prices of molybdenum products in 2003.
