According to the customs-statistics released in China, the quantities ( on material base ) of nickels exported and imported by China in February of 2008 were as per the table attached hereto. In February of 208, China renewed the largest quantity of nickel metal ( unwrought nickel ) per month imported in the past years but, on the other hand, decreased their imports of nickel ore. Nickel-contained pig iron produced in China is being supplied to the stainless steel industry as a substitutive material for nickel metal or ferro-nickel but, since the Central Government of China has enforced the regulations for production of nickel-contained pig iron, this production in China has to be reduced, having caused to decrease China's imports of low grade nickel ore to a considerable extent.
